Attendance Management
Mark and correct daily attendance
Step-by-step instructions · 3 min read
Keep your daily register accurate. Follow these steps to mark attendance, review the entries, and correct a status when needed.
Before you begin
Sign in with your own school account and have the correct class list ready. You will need access to attendance for the classes you manage. The options you see may vary with your school’s setup and your role.
Check the date first
A quick date and class check helps prevent marks being entered in the wrong register. Follow your school’s attendance rules for any late arrivals or changes.
Mark daily attendance
1. Choose the class and date
Open the attendance area available to your account. Select the class or section you are responsible for and confirm the date before entering any marks. Check that the student list matches the class you are taking.
If the class is missing, ask your school administrator to confirm your class assignment and access.
2. Mark each student’s attendance
Work through the register one student at a time. Record whether each student is present or absent using the options available in your school’s setup. Follow your school’s policy for late arrivals or other attendance situations.
Do not assume an unmarked entry means present. Check every student before finishing.
3. Review and save the register
Compare the completed register with your classroom count. Check for missed entries or accidental marks, then use the available save or submit action. Review the register again to confirm that the information shown matches what you entered.
If you do not see your changes, check your connection and review the date and class before trying again.
Correct an attendance entry
4. Find the entry that needs a correction
Return to the same class and attendance date. Locate the student and compare the recorded status with the information you have confirmed. If you cannot change an entry, contact the person responsible for attendance at your school.
For a past date, confirm the correction with your school’s attendance policy before making a change.
5. Update the status and check it again
Where editing is available, change only the entry that needs correcting and save the change. Reopen or review the register to check the updated status. Let the relevant school team member know if the correction affects a follow-up with the family.
Keep a short note of the reason for the correction using your school’s usual process.
A few useful reminders
- Agree on who marks attendance for each class to avoid duplicate work.
- Check absences and late arrivals against your school’s usual process.
- Keep student information private when asking for help with a register.
If something does not look right
A class or student is missing
Check the selected class, section, and date. Ask your school administrator to review the student’s class assignment and the access linked to your account.
The register does not show my changes
Check your internet connection and confirm that you completed the available save action. Review the same class and date again before entering attendance a second time.
I cannot edit a previous entry
Editing may depend on your account access or your school’s process. Ask your attendance lead or administrator to help with the correction rather than using another person’s account.
